I can’t believe it’s October already! September always flies by—it’s the start of the school year, getting to know a new class, and working hard to establish routines and expectations. We also had Parents Weekend, which meant I got to see my college kids!
This month, I’ve been creating with the Perfectly Pears Bundle, part of the Painterly Pears Suite. This beautiful set features delicate pear blossoms, luscious fruits, graceful leaves, and timeless sentiments. I absolutely love the colors in the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper—they’re rich, elegant, and perfect for fall crafting.
I also took part in my first card challenge! I joined a layout challenge from the Global Design Project. Here’s the sketch that inspired me:

For my cards, I used the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder to create a textured background and tried the sketch in two different color palettes. The first features a clean white background for a soft, classic look, while the second uses a Secret Sea card base—a bolder choice that really makes the pears and greenery stand out.

I love this set because it’s so versatile—you can create everything from simple, classic cards to richly layered designs.
Trying this challenge reminded me how inspiring it can be to step outside your comfort zone. Just changing a color or layout can completely transform a design! Whether you’re new to stamping or have been creating for years, sketch challenges are a great way to spark creativity and see your supplies in a whole new light.
If you’d like to add the Perfectly Pears Bundle to your collection, you can find it as part of the Painterly Pears Suite on my website. I’d love to know—which version do you like best: the clean white or the bold Secret Sea?
