Hello friends! I’m back with another card sketch inspired by the 2024–2025 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. This sketch is a fantastic option for beginner card makers who may not have a large collection of supplies, and it’s equally perfect for seasoned crafters looking to use up their stash.

One of my favorite things about this design is how flexible it is—no special stamp sets or dies are required. You can truly make it your own with what you already have on hand.

Supplies Needed:

Acrylic block or stamping platform

Paper trimmer

Adhesive

Card stock

Coordinating patterned paper (DSP)

Ink

Sentiment stamp

I began with a standard card base measuring 5½” x 4¼” in Peach Pie. The bottom layer measures 1¾” x 3″ and is adhered at a slight angle to add interest. The next layer on top measures 2½” x 3¾”. I used a more subtle patterned paper for the bottom layer and saved a bolder pattern for the top layer to create contrast.

For the sentiment, I stamped on white cardstock cut to 2¾” x ¾” and finished the card with a few gems for a little sparkle.

On the card to the right, I added a mat measuring 4″ x 5¼” and finished the sentiment with a small bow.

On the right side card I incorporated die-cut snowflakes and a sentiment created with my Glimmer machine, paired with a sentiment from Spellbinders.

The card on the left features die-cut leaves for added texture and interest. On another variation, I used stamped and die-cut hearts and leaves. I embossed the card base, created my own “patterned paper” for the bottom mat by stamping a floral image on colored card stock, then embossed and inked the top mat—no DSP needed!

In one final version, I skipped patterned paper altogether and instead stamped and colored an image for the top layer.

This sketch truly shows how many looks you can get from one simple layout.
